PhD Alumna Yue Dai is the Founding Research Fellow at the FuturArt Foundation

Following her curatorial internship at the Dallas Museum of Art, Yue Dai has joined the FuturArt Foundation in New York as its founding research fellow. In this role, she will research and write on contemporary Asian art and develop public programs supporting exhibitions and events at the organization’s gallery space. During her year at the DMA, Yue assisted with the exhibition Samurai to the Imperial Court: Japanese Metalwork, the museum’s first special exhibition devoted to Asian art in two decades. She also helped reidentify a Daoist statue in the galleries, conducted provenance research, prepared acquisition reports, and led well-attended gallery tours. Her current position grew directly out of a DMA-funded research trip to New York, and she warmly recommends the internship programs to students at every level: they connect participants with hiring professionals, local resources, and wider professional networks, and they involve trainees closely in primary projects.
